Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We believe in running a sustainable business at Ichyulu which includes respecting the environment and ensuring our business practices are ethical too. This manifests itself in the following ways.

1. Considered Buying

As a small business, we buy collections in small quantities. We do not encourage over consumption and like customers to look at purchases as investment pieces, items that they can enjoy over a long period of time.

2. Sustainable and Ethical Designers

All our designers are small businesses which means they have learnt to use what is available to them (resource and capital wise). As a consequence, they are often very sustainable enterprises by their nature. They have fair wages and adopt a made to order model where they only produce what is required. For the clothing designers, some end up using deadstock fabric.

3. Reusable Packaging

Packaging can be quite damaging to the environment. All items from Ichyulu come in a drawstring bag which is durable and can be reused for other things. We try to avoid using plastic and tissue paper as much as possible and if we have to use boxes, we reuse packaging we receive from other vendors.

We are always exploring ways to reduce our environment footprint and view being sustainable as a core part of our business.
